Roro Jongrang , Legend of Prambanan Temple

Once upon a time there was a king named Prabu Boko ruling in Prambanan . Prabu Boko was a powerful giant . He has a daughter named Jonggrang . Jonggrang very pretty .

Boko border with the kingdom there is a kingdom called Pengging . One day the king Pengging wanted to expand his kingdom , so he sent his son , Bondowoso led an army to attack the kingdom of Prambanan . Bondowoso successfully defeated the Boko Boko even kill the king .

Bondowoso Prambanan was staying in the palace . He falls in love with Jonggrang and asked her to be queen . Jonggrang do not want to be Bondowoso wife who had killed his father . He was looking for a reason to reject the proposal that the prince Pengging smoothly .

Eventually he met Bondowoso and said , "I want to be your wife , but as the condition you must make two wells and a thousand temples in one night . " Although the terms proposed Jonggrang impossible to fulfill someone else , directly Bondowoso menyanggupinya . He gathered the spirits who become his men and began to dig wells and build the temple .

Bondowoso and his men worked very quickly . In a short time they had completed a well and hundreds of temples .

Jonggrang anxiously watching from a distance . He thought hard to find a way to thwart Bondowoso . Jonggrang also called lady's maid and told them to burn straw and beating the dimples .

The fire of straw burned making the atmosphere light and the sound of the beat dimples surprisingly rowdy spirits at work . They thought the day was morning . They fled , leaving Bondowoso wells and temples as well as unfinished .

Bondowoso tried to call them back , but they still left it .

Bondowoso Jonggrang met and asked , " Your time is up , Bandung . Is candiku finished? "

Bandung desperately upset because he knew Jonggrang have thwarted his hard work , but he tried to hold back , " Of course the temple was finished . If you do not believe , please you count yourself . " Jonggrang accompanied by her ladies temple counting one by one . Turns Bondowoso has successfully completed nine hundred and ninety- nine temples .

"You failed , Bandung . Still not a temple , "said Jonggrang .

Bondowoso tempered , "If you do not cheat , I'm sure you can finish a thousand temples , Jonggrang , " he said .

" Well , I fulfill your wish . Be you , Jonggrang , the thousandth temple ! " Curse Bondowoso

So Jonggrang was transformed into a stone statue of a very beautiful and magical , the stones are arranged one after the other by itself establish the temple , surrounding the statue.

Until now Jonggrang stone sculptures that can be seen in gorgeous indoor main temple at Prambanan .
