Dewi Lanjar Legend

Told in antiquity Pekalongan somewhere there lived a princess who is very beautiful girl, is still the talk of the residents, a place known by the name of Yellow Dewi Rara. The place of residence can not be known with certainty .

In taking his wave Dewi Rara Yellow undergo great suffering, because in a very young age he was already a widow. Her husband died some time after the nuptials. That is why the Goddess Yellow Rara then known as the Goddess Lanjar. (Lanjar term for a woman divorced from her husband in such a young age and have not had children) . Since her husband left the Goddess Lanjar very miserable life and always thought of him alone. Such things running for some time, but over time the Goddess Lanjar had thought again that if allowed to continue would not be such a good result . That is why he then decided to leave his hometown, his weeping wander ridden poor .

Goddess Lanjar trip up the river is a river disebuah Opaque. This place then met with the king of Mataram with Mahapatih Singaranu was meditating ngapung above water in the river. During the meeting the Goddess Lanjar also expressed his heart and said not willing to marry again. Panembahan Senopati and Mahapatih Singoranu to hear and feel sorry tergaru he said. Therefore dinasehatinya so imprisoned in South Beach and also overlooks the Queen of South. After some time, they part from each other and continue the journey of each, along with his assistance Panembahan Senopati and continue down the river Opaque while imprisoned Goddess Lanjar go towards the South Coast to face Queen of the South (Ratu Pantai Selatan).

It is said that the Goddess Lanjar when he got in South Beach looking for a good place to meditate . Due diligence and belief in the counsel of the king of Mataram was eventually Goddess Lanjar to moksha ( lost ) and can be met with the Queen of South .

During the meeting Lanjar Goddess can be appealed to his men , and Ratu Kidul no objection. One day Goddess Lanjar with jins ordered to disrupt and prevent Raden Shoulder Gambiren being open forest ( now located around the bridge and the village Sorogenen anim Pekalongan Shoulder Raden make a fire place) but because of the magic Raden Shoulders, obtained from meditated Ngalong (such as bat/ bats) , all temptation Goddess Lanjar and jins can be defeated even subject to Raden shoulders. Because there is no Goddess Lanjar successfully perform the task then he decided not to return to the South Coast, but then apply for permission to Raden Shoulder to reside in Pekalongan. By Raden Shoulder also approved even by the Queen of South. Goddess Lanjar allowed to stay north coast of Central Java, especially in Pekalongan. It is said that the Goddess palace lies Lanjar located next to the river shore Slamaran Pekalongan .
