The Legend of Sipendok Spring

East of the mountains Merbabu, there are beautiful hills and fertile. There lives a wiku with a daughter (Nawangsih). Wiku known to be very powerful, character wise, wise, virtuous and socially minded.

In the presence of such a wiku, heard by the King of Pengging Kusumawicitra. Therefore he sent the king 's son, Prince Citrasoma to meet wiku and once studied.

Prince Citrasoma after arriving in vegetable fields see her alone, but she was actually running, then Prince Citrasoma follow from behind. Turns out he was the son of the Wiku. Furthermore, the Prince accepted the Wiku and allowed to stay in the hermitage.

After a few days, came the Sheikh Maulana Maghribi in here, aim to spread Islam. This aproved and permitted by the Wiku. Eventually the family Wiku and Citrasoma accept and practice Islam. Intimacy exists between Citrasoma with Maulana Sheikh. Similarly, between Nawangsih the prince fell in love. Finally continues Citrasoma intend applying. But before the Wiku ask for directions to Sheikh Maulana accept the terms relating to the proposal.

Requirement in question is the Prince should be able to make the springs as a means of livelihood of the people. Before carrying out its duties, Citrasoma Pengging excused himself back to first, and tell all their problems to the father.

At the direction of his father, on the slopes Merbabu Citrasoma imprisoned for 40 days and 40 nights. In his meditation, he was visited by the king jin, the King Karawu high intangible giant big black and long hair. After the dialogue, it is suggested that Citrasoma patiently wait a few days.

After watching both the springs, then they both knees while saying : " O Allah , Alhamdulillah gratitude for the gift of you." they noticed water coming out of the ground squiggly Sipendhok resemble a keris. by Sheikh Maulana Maghribi , the fountain was named Tuk Sipendhok.

Therefore, taste and people's religious fervor is increasing, there arose the initiative to establish a mosque. Sheikh Maulana sent a messenger to ask for help to Demak pillars Mosque. Requests for assistance that never came, because the Mayor is also being set up in Demak Great Mosque of Demak. However, it did not dampen the spirit of the community. They have joined together to gather the necessary building materials.
